School Houses

The House System has been developed throughout the school not only for sports but also for pupil rewards, including politeness, behaviour and achievements in class.

Every pupil in the school has been allocated to one of our four Houses named after the 4 Gospel writers: St Matthew’s, St Mark’s, St Luke’s and St John’s. House points will be awarded and collated each half term with recognition of success in our Celebration Assemblies. House assemblies occur each term where pupils have the opportunity to learn about their house saint and plan house events.

Each House has an elected House Captain and Vice House Captain from Year 6 and these are changed annually. Pupils prepare speeches about why they should be House Captain and these are delivered in their House Assembly where all members of the house vote. This gives our pupils another opportunity to experience British Values with freedom of speech and Democratic voting.

We are very proud of our current and past House Captains and it is great to see them grow and mature in this role.

Year 10 House Event Day

We had 10 work experience pupils – all previously at Our Lady who came and organised a fantastic House Morning for us. The children moved from room to room to experience a drama session, a dance event, creative house shield designs and a PE obstacle course. It was a fun and exciting morning for all the children and well done to all our brilliant Year 10’s who put a lot of effort into planning this event! They were a great help in the school and, after training, read with so many children! It makes us very proud to see past pupils having grown so much and come back to share their gifts and talents with the next generation!
