Maths: Money week.
Science: We have been learning about the five senses and what organs we use to smell, see, taste, hear and touch. It was fun!
Faith Programme - All about gifts.
RE- Collective Worship Assembly.
The prayer assembly was about our RE topic- Special People. We have learnt how our families, school and community are important in our lives and are there to look after us.
We really enjoyed dressing up as special people in our community. Please have a look at our amazing photos!
Term 2
Toy Museum workshop.
Class 1 dressed up as Victorian children and welcomed Lesley Young from Freshwater theatre company who ran an hour session with them exploring toys. Class 1 imagined they were in a real toy museum and had fun finding out about toys in the past and present day toys. It was fantastic! Children showed a great behaviour and interest during the workshop. Well done Class 1!
Maths- In Geometry we have been learning about position and direction. We have been learning how to programme the Bee-bot to move forwards, backwards, left and right. It was amazing!
Science: How could you find out which materials float/ sink?
We looked at each object and described its properties, then we made a prediction about whether it will float or sink. After that we tested the object and recorded findings.
Maths- We went on a shape hunt around the school and found lots of 3D shapes!
Faith Programme- HARVEST is a celebration of the food grown on the land. It reminds us of all the good things that God has given us. We really enjoyed making bread with sister Caroline and share it with Reception class!
Term 1
Science: We have been predicting and investigating to identify waterproof and non-waterproof materials to make an umbrella for our teddy.
Music: This week we have learnt that the rhythm is a mixture of long and short sounds, using different instruments.
Maths: We have used numicon to order and write numbers up to 20!
Drama: We have been acting out the story of Beegu. We really enjoyed working as a group and taking turns!
Science: Investigating materials- We have been sorting materials using a Venn Diagram.
Judaism: We have been learning the story of Abraham who is important for Jewish people. We have also enjoyed making the ‘Star of David’ which is the common symbol of Judaism and Israel.
