In September 2015 we introduced a House System for the school. After discussions with the pupils we chose
St Matthew, St Mark, St Luke and St John. We felt this would give us an opportunity to develop our knowledge of the Gospels and to celebrate and live their values.
Many of the Year 6 pupils prepared speeches about why they should be House Captain and delivered these in their House Assembly. As Staff, we were extremely proud of the thought and effort that went into them; they truly reflected how the children had matured and were ready to take on a leading responsibility.
Towards the end of Term 6, Our Lady of the Rosary elect new Captains and Vice Captains for each House and a formal handover is held between the outgoing Captains and Vice Captains (Y6) and the newly elected Leads (Y5 pupils heading into Y6). This also supports our commitment to the British Value of 'Democracy'.
We held our 2017-2018 elections for our new House Captains and Vice-Captains on Tuesday, July 12th. The following Year 5 pupils stood as candidates:
Blanka, Isabel, Issac, Max, Harry, Luke, Jessie-Mae, Jessica, Simona, Connie, Dylan, Tanaka, Olivia, Anthony, Jacob, Levi, Darcie, Gabi, Niamh, Wesley, Thomas and Jerome.
Once we counted all of the votes, the following pupils were elected as Captains and Vice Captains:
St. Matthew: Isabel and Isaac
St. Mark: Anthony and Olivia
St. Luke: Dylan and Tanaka
St. John: Max and Simona
